Signing up for Rock Climbing

This is what happens when you combine my big mouth with a holiday 3 day weekend.

Lately, me and fiance has settle in a boring routine. Most of the time is just either hanging out at home, go dine out or shopping...boring stuff. We've 'kau tim' (completed) the things we need to do with the apartment already. All unpacking done, a bit of decoration done, all things we need to fixed is fixed etc etc....we are ready to move on to a new 'project'.

We both agreed that we need to make more time to exercise. And I said that jogging and swimming is a bit boring....rock climbing in 1U looks interesting ! (that's my big mouth talking). Fiance said "Wow, I didn't know you were interested in rock climbing, next time we are in 1U, we could check out the place"........

So, in we went to Camp 5, the indoor rock climbing gym that just opened in 1U. It didn't take long to wait for the 'next time we are in 1U'....1U is practically our second home. Back to the rock climbing gym...it's nice, with lots of wall for you to climb, right from the beginners to intermediate to the experts. There are also walls for lead climbing. Fiance looked so excited looking at the people who were climbing there, and I basically was breaking cold sweat just looking at those high walls.
Nonetheless, I was up for the challenge (the instructor there also told me that after climbing for sometime, your fear for heights will lessen). So, we signed up for a 3 months membership. We also signed up for a 4 hours Basic Wall Class. We had the choice of taking 1 4 hours class or 2 2 hours class. I chose the latter. Fiance wanted to chose the 1 4 hours class. I told him, I stand for 4 hours also legs tired, definitely cannot climb for 4 hours.

1st day of class. It was easy enough, just learn the basics, what's a belayer, tie some important knots, learn to belay ...bla bla bla...then it's off to our first climb. We only did a few climbs in this class before it was over.

2nd day of class. Straight away we were of climbing. Here we learned some basic technics in climbing. Yea, it's a lot about technics and not just raw strenght. After the 2 hours, we were exhausted ! Arms had no more strenght and the veins are popping out !

The day after the class. Arms muscle hurt like hell ! ....it hurts even to lift my arms. But it was fun and exhilarating. My fear for the heights are still there, but I feel it's getting a bit less. Maybe due to familiarity to the climbing walls. Well, since we've already signed for the 3 months membership...there'll be more climbing to do.

Pixart

I've made this great discover today, while keh poh chi-ing in someone else's blog this morning. It's Pixart ! It's this website that enables you to create a photo album using all your digital photos !

Isn't it about time that something like this comes up ? I mean, it's the digital age, photos are taken digitally and you can digitally enchance your photos anyway you like. I mean, why are we still in the mindset where we need to develop our photos in 3R, 4R, 5R only ? Why not do the whole photo album digitally and print them !

I think this is a neat idea. I've yet to try them yet, but I definitely will when I have the time.

Visit this website if you are interested to Pixart your photos too : http://pixart.com.my/

Marble

Talking about old stuffs that I've kept for years (refer to previous post), I suddenly remember this little marble ball that I had since 7,8,9 (pick one) years old. I think I've lost it. :(
This is what I meant when I mentioned that I'm not good at taking care of my stuffs.

This marble is white in color, with stripes of black and red. It's around the size of an average fish ball. Why this marble means a lot to me is because my bro bought it for me. Well, actually he is too young to have any money to buy it for me, but he did choose it out and had my mom buy it for me.

When we were young, almost every weekend, my mom will bring us to my grandma's place. My grandma's place is really a kampung(village) place where kids just roam freely and ppl rear chickens in their backyards. We play all these kampung games like gasing (tops), marbles, masak-masak (cooking game), catch fishes in nearby river...ahhh....those were the days. Anyway, near my grandma's place there's this bakery that we call "roti tim" (Bread shop). Mom will always get freshly baked bread from roti tim for our breakfast the following week. Everytime mom goes to roti tim, me and my bro would always follow. Why ? ...because besides bread, this shops also sells lots of candies, chocolates, toys and all other stuff. And me and my bro will get to buy treats :)

There was one weekend, I was sick. I had diarrhea. I wasn't able to follow my mom and bro to roti tim. So both of them went, but I didn't feel sad or anything. Then when they came back, bro held this marble to me and said he bought it for me. Isnt' that sweet ? :). Actually, I didn't play any marbles though that's the 'in' game during that time. My bro was playing like mad with his bunch of friends. So, I guess he picked out the marble cause to him marble is cool. But I was so touch that my bro thought of me and bought me something from roti tim. So, I held on to the marble....

I still had the marble till few years ago. Now, I don't remember. I don't remember where I had put it. Maybe it's back at my mom's in hometown. Maybe it's inside some of the boxes that I still have yet to clear since I've moved (I'm hoping this is the case), or worse, I might have lost it during one of my moving frenzies......*sigh*.....

Old Stuffs

I was going through some stuff on my dressing table last night. There are some stuff that I've had for years....some more that 10 years. I seldom use or wear most of these stuff anymore. Mainly, there's no right occasion or I have nothing else that goes with those stuff.
I'm actually is a bit suprised that I've managed to keep these stuff for so many years, because I've been moving quite a lot since attending university and I'm always quite clumsy with my stuffs. I always end up misplacing them or breaking them.
I'm grateful that I still have these 'treasures' with me, and will still keep them for many years on.

These pearl necklaces are all from my mom, they are beautiful and very elegant. She gave me these along with the other necklaces (below) when I was around 13-14 years old (I think). So, counting the years, I've kept them for more than 10 years ! I now put these necklaces on a box on my dressing table for easy access, maybe this way, I'll wear them more often

This is a little gold bracelet that I use to wear when I'm 5,6,7,8 (around there la) years old. I don't know who gave this to me, my parents ? grandma? relatives?...There use to be a little bell (ding dong) on this bracelet, but me being a 'rough' child, bell got dented at first, then in the end the bell fell off (see, even when young, I'm already breaking my stuffs). Of course, I no longer wear this anymore.....it's so teeny tiny.....can't even wrapped it around my wrist.

These 2 earrings, I also don't wear them anymore. The apple shaped earrings (top) is a present from my ex for my birthday. I still keep it cause...it's jewelry...who throws away jewelries ! Anyway, it was a gift and I always think that it's rude and ungrateful to throw away people's gift to you.

Meanwhile, the heart shaped earrings (below) is, I think my first earrings. My mom bought it for me when I had my ears pierced. I had my ears pierced when I was very young, less than 10 years old. I actually requested for it, so fatt hou (vain) huh. I still remember picking up the earrings myself, being a little girl, I liked everything with heart shapes. I also remember that the jewelry shop used a 'gun' to make the piercing......first 'shot'.....cry like hell already. But what to do, already taken 1 'shot', have to finish up with another 'shot' ler. After that, cry all the way home !

This is the rest of the necklaces that my mom gave to me. They are really versatile, you could wear them in multistrands or indivudually or even twist them around the wrist and wear it as bracelets. Talking about these necklaces make me miss my mom ! I wanna go back hometown !

Update !

Missing in action for such a long time, so many things that I want to blog about.....want to blog about my company's annual dinner (snake alert ! ), Jacky Cheung's Snow Wolf Lake (I think I'm in love with Jackie and Evonne Hsu), and the recent shopping trip in KLCC (MAC alert !)....

Boy, thinking about it make me feel tired already, I did so many things meh ? So, here's a recap :

Company's Annual Dinner :

Nothing special happened, except that I won the Fear Factor contest....what did I need to do ? ...grab a bunch of pebbles from a jar filled with little snakes.....AND with a big phyton around my neck....ta-da..... *smug*...
And what did I win for my little stunt ? A lousy iron.. cis...

Snow Wolf Lake :

Awesome !....totally worth the moo-lah that ....my bro had to fork out to pay for this musical ! Everything from the stage to sound system to the performance was just GREAT ! ...Except for 1 itsy bitsy thingy......watching Jacky Cheung dancing ....Welllll, I'm not saying that Jacky dance badly, in fact he was great ! But I grew up watching Jacky singing love songs, acting in funny movies etc. Watching him dancing ala Gene Kelly is a bit awkward to me. Hey, not just me, my bro felt the same thing....in fact he even closed his eyes because beh tahan....

Shopping Trip in KLCC :

Isetan > Parkson Grand (Stila) > Vinnci > MAC (money all fly away) > Zara

Enough said.
